Icon for Awareness
For this project, I was asked to design a campaign to modify a behavior or raise awareness about a social issue. For two deliverables, I created a poster and an app icon. I chose the topic of ocean pollution to create a poster and an app icon to raise awareness in society. Moreover, the project requires the design not to exceed 3 colors, which was the challenge for this project.
Starting with the idea of recycling and stopping littering in the ocean, I created different compositions.
After several revisions, the final poster was limited to 3 colors. A monochromatic blue palette was used to represent the ocean. The poster was composed in a simple way and with clear content to target youth involvement in ocean conservation due to the perceived smiley in the shape of two bottles and the arrow.
